Leading in worship, praise and thanksgiving.
Service is what singing in St. Thomas’ Choir is all about—service offered to the glory of God.
The Choir’s role is one of ministry rather than performance. Choir members first and foremost offer up a gift to God and then (and only then) to the congregation. They use their gifts to undergird, support, enhance, strengthen and embellish the corporate ministry of song in our parish.
The music and songs selected each Sunday are thematically linked and based on the Scripture readings for the day.
In addition to singing at Sunday worship, the Choir leads the singing at special services during Lent, Easter and Christmas. One of the highlights for the year is when St. Thomas’ reaches out to other churches and invites them to participate in a special seasonal choir for the Lessons & Carols Service prior to Christmas.
New members are always welcome. Weekly rehearsals take place on Thursday evenings in the Garrison Room (enter through the chapel door) from 7:00-8:30 pm.
St. Thomas’ music ministry also involves the leadership of a worship band at our 10:30 am worship services.
