Spiritual Journaling Group, May-July 2012
SPIRITUAL JOURNALING COURSE BEGINS SOON
The author Richard Peace writes: "Journaling helps us pay attention to God. It is a way of hearing and responding to God. Journaling helps us to understand our unfolding story. Knowing our story helps us to see what God has been doing in the past, is doing now, and is calling us to do in the future."
You are invited to consider being part of a nine-week course beginning Tuesday May 29 and continuing weekly until July 24. We will use the book "Spiritual Journaling: Recording your journey toward God" by Richard Peace. Books will be available for purchase ($10) but registration will be limited to eleven people. We will meet on Tuesdays at 32 Carpasian Road from 7:00-8:30pm. Please register with Crystal at the Church Office. If there proves to be a lot of interest for this class (as for the class in meditative Prayer) it will be offered again in the Fall.
This course, along with other initiatives like the classes on Contemplative Prayer, Meditative Prayer, Faith Journey, Spiritual Disciplines Companions, Overnight Retreats, etc. is part of our Annual Workplan 2012 to address our NCD lowest quality characteristic at St. Thomas': Holistic Small Groups. Our people need to experience growth in Christ through interaction in small groups in order to grow in our Christian faith. Without experience of God's reality our faith remains stagnant, like a relationship when two people are apart from one another. What group is helping you grow in your relationship with Jesus Christ? Could this be a chance for you to consider joining or starting a group to grow with?
