Pastus is a Greek word meaning to be fed or nourished. Here at St. Thomas’ it is the word that we use to define the pastoral ministry we offer to those who are shut-in or those who need a little spiritual and social support. It is primarily a ministry of the people supported by the clergy. People are fed and nourished on a regular basis through Home Communions, Friendly visitors, and Bereavement courses. This ministry is primarily gift-based and requires very little training. If you feel you are gifted and/or called in ministering to seniors, the shut-in, or the lonely, then this is the ministry for you.
